Walking right below the mountains would be world class experience for any individual. Annapurna circuit trekking provides some similar experience. It has been explained as world best trekking route and is one of the most popular trekking route in Nepal. With the scenic view of Annapurna Trail, river Marshyangdi flowing right below, pine forests on the way, apple gardens on the way and local villages on the way – Annapurna Base Camp. Trekking indeed has satisfied large number of tourists. The trek shall encounter different monasteries and temples, landscapes and bridges on the way. This has been regarded as one of the dream trek for many adventure lovers. The climate in this region is quiet tropical and different parts are heavily cultivated and the landscape. Therefore, it largely consists of terraced paddy fields. Oranges and Apples are famous crops of the region. On the way, when tropical region changes to more temperate – there will be oak forests, beech and rhododendron on the way. There are barren landscapes at extension of Tibetan plateau. As far as animals are concerned, there are different variety of birds in the region. On the way sheep will be noticed in large scale and Himalayan Tahr would be appealing enough. Yaks would be further interesting. October – November is popular hiking season in this route, as views will be clear. December – March will be the coldest period when the night time temperature could fall below freezing level.

  • Day 01 Arrive Pokhara

    To start our Annapurna Base Camp trek, we should first ensure that we reach Pokhara. This can be done through direct flight connecting Pokhara from Kathmandu, Chitwan, or even Biratnagar. Or, there is roadway access, which is beautiful – though crowded in almost half of the part, we will reach Pokhara. The flight would be around thirty minutes and if the roadway has opted, that will take around six to seven hours to reach this beautiful city. We enjoy the lakeside view and spend our first day of the ABC trek in this place itself.

  • Day 02 Drive to Nayapul and trek to Ghandruk

    On this second day, early morning we drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, this will be around one hour of drive. And then we officially start our trek. We first trek downhill up to Birethati after crossing the suspension bridge built right above Bhurungdi River. Birethati is a small village where we walk around after fulfilling some formalities with the authorities. Then, we walk across Modi River. There will be a steep uphill walk that will be followed after this and ultimately we reach our final destination – Ghandruk. Observing the beautiful views of Machhapuchre we spend our overnight there itself.

  • Day 03 Trek to Sinwa

    Early morning after breakfast we depart from Ghandruk. This day, we make our ultimate destination Sinwa. We first walk along the Modi river and then divert our way crossing different boulders before reaching the bridge on the Krimrong River. There will then be the trail that will become steep till we make it to Gurung village in Chhomrong by crossing Jhinu danda. Hiking further, we overcome through forests of bamboo and oak trees. We finally reach our destination after 6 to 7 hours of trek making it to Sinwa. Overnight at Sinwa.

  • Day 04 Trek to Deurali

    Having our breakfast, we get set for a trek of next day. We start our trek from Sinwa. We walk till we reach Kuldhigar and then walk along a steep stoned staircase that will take us to Dhbhan through suspension bridge around. The vegetation like that of yesterday will surround. We then walk through the valley of Himalaya and Hinku Cave and finally make it to Deurali. Deurali is a small and beautiful place. Overnight will be spent in Deurali.

  • Day 05 Trek to Annapurna Base Camp

    This is the day that we had been waiting for such a long and this will be one amazing day. On this day we begin our walk along with the Modi river that will take us up to Bagar. Bagar is generally recognized as starting point for Machhapuchre base camp. Spending some time, we then continue our walk observing some majestic peaks till we reach Annapurna Sanctuary. Walking further, we will then arrive at the base camp of south Annapurna. Overnight at this amazing place located at an altitude of 4130 meters, Annapurna Base Camp.

  • Day 06 Trek to Bamboo

    Observing the morning situation of the place, we have our breakfast. And then we get set for our trek of this sixth day. We walk along with different waterfalls, come across temples, caves forests of oak, bamboo along with rhododendron, and ultimately make to our ultimate destination – Bamboo, which is relatively a small place. We trek for 6 to 7 hours to make it here. Overnight in the lodge of Bamboo.

  • Day 07 Bamboo to Jhinu Hot Spring

    As this would be the seventh day, it would be okay to wake up late. Having our breakfast we then start our hike from bamboo to Kuldhigar and visit the office of ACAP. We then descend downward till we reach the bridge over Chhomrong River and pass Sinwa. This will bring us to Gurung village, we further walk till we make it to Jhinu Danda where we relax and unwind in the hot spring. This experience at hot spring would be relaxation-filled. Overnight at lodge in Jhinu Danda.

  • Day 08 Trek to Nayapul and drive to Pokhara

    Having our breakfast, we begin the trek by crossing the bridge that would be located over Modi River. We pass through different forests and village settlements and ultimately reach Syauli Bazar. We further walk crossing the suspension bridge on Bhurungdi River and then arrive at Nayapul. We ultimately drive back to Pokhara and then. Overnight at Pokhara.

  • Day 09 Back to Kathmandu

    Spending enough time, as per our requirement we book our ticket – either roadway or flight and reach back to Kathmandu. On making a customized route, it is possible to extend the day in Pokhara and explore Pokhara’s beautiful places too. But that would be optional.
